Artistic & Creative Life
Sacred Heart School Westport endeavours to create an environment that celebrates the joy of self-discovery and expression through the arts. We provide a range of opportunities that allow students’ talents to shine through:
- Drama: Students are afforded the opportunity to showcase their theatrical talents through drama club and school performances.
- Music: A core part of life at SHS with opportunities for choir, performance and participation in competitions. Annual school highlights include the carol service and the TY school musical.
- Art: Central to creative life in SHS, the school fosters students’ talents and encourages participation in local and national competitions. Student work is proudly displayed throughout the school and in the wider community through partnerships with Westport Tidy Towns.
- Dance: A key component of the PE curriculum on offer at SHS, students engage in the creative form of self-expression.
- Public Speaking, Creative Writing and Debates: Students participate in a wide range of opportunities including the Soroptimist Public Speaking Competition, various debating events and local and national writing competitions.
